Set for an August 9 release, Two Point Campus is less than a week away, and fan excitement is at an all-time high. Two Point Campus swaps out its predecessor’s hospital setting for a much brighter, much wackier university campus setting, where players are tasked with building a range of both educational and extracurricular facilities. But again, much like its predecessor, Two Point Campus’ outlandish tone is what will undoubtedly set it apart from the other simulation games out there right now.

Everything To Know Before Two Point Campus Releases
For anyone that’s played a simulation or tycoon game before, Two Point Campus’ general gameplay loop will be more than familiar. Upon starting up Two Point Campus for the first time, players are tasked with building their own university campus from the ground-up. This means building everything from classrooms, to lecture halls, to libraries, and even a range of non-educational buildings, like gym halls, dormitories, and rec rooms. Players will also need to carefully manage their university’s staff, and ensure that they’re all in the position they’re best suited to. This will all be fairly familiar to those who have played Two Point Hospital.
The key difference between Two Point Campus and its predecessor, however, is that the player will also need to manage each individual student that enters the campus. Much like Hospital, the students in Campus are procedurally generated, and each falls into a personality archetype, which determines how they’ll behave throughout the year, which takes about 20 minutes of real-time. Players will need to carefully monitor each student’s wellbeing, and ensure that their work/nightlife is balanced properly so that they remain happy, but still attend class the next day. At the end of each in-game year, a graduation will be held, and scores will be given out based on how many students passed the year, and how many failed or dropped out.
On paper, Two Point Campus sounds just like any other management sim, but the unique style and lighthearted tone of the game is what makes it stand out from the crowd. Much like its predecessor, Two Point Campus is embracing the wackier side of gaming, and leans into humor wherever it can. The biggest area in which it’s doing this is in the in-game classes. Rather than having simple mathematics or English classes, Two Point Campus allows players to introduce some more bizarre classes to the curriculum. Knight School is a great example of this, where students learn to become medieval knights and study ancient scripture. Two Point Campus will be full of these pun-based, outlandish classes, all of which cement the game’s lighthearted tone further.
For those looking to get Two Point Campus on the Xbox, they’re in luck, as it’s heading to Xbox Game Pass day-one for no additional cost. For those without Xbox Game Pass, Two Point Campus will cost around $39.99 on its August 9 release day, which should be more than a fair price for the apparent amount of content in the game.
Two Point Campus arrives August 9 on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
