Raimi’s bizarre horror-comedy is rife with gory and graphic action, but even more prolific is Bruce Campbell’s performance as Ash Williams. Campbell is synonymous with Evil Dead and Evil Dead: The Game has surely taken meticulous care to adapt him into the game through the multi-generational eras his character has experienced. Evil Dead: The Game was recently delayed to May of this year, but a new trailer showcases that fans have more to look forward to with a pre-order bonus.

Evil Dead: The Game has announced two new skins that will be particularly “groovy” for fans of Raimi’s Army of Darkness. The brief trailer states that a pre-order of the game will gift players with the S-Mart Employee outfit and the Gallant Knight outfit for Ash. The S-Mart Employee outfit equips Ash with his iconic “boomstick” Winchester rifle in the S-Mart uniform he dons at the end of Army of Darkness. This outfit only makes a small appearance in the movie, but it marks an iconic moment for Ash as he returns to the present day and nonchalantly battles another Deadite in the store.

Moreover, the Gallant Knight outfit equips Ash with a sword in the suit of armor and cape he dons throughout the latter half of Army of Darkness. Ash wears this attire without the chest plate as he ventures out to find the Necronomicon, and later with the chest plate in the battle against the undead Deadite army. Ash looks the part in this outfit while sent back to the Middle Ages, and it will be a unique cosmetic skin for Ash players to wear in Evil Dead: The Game.

Interestingly, Evil Dead: The Game’s character skins will not all be simple cosmetic reskins. As shown between these two pre-order cosmetics for Ash, different skins will substitute the character’s weapons as well, which shows dedicated attention to the franchises that each of its skins will be inspired by. Evil Dead: The Game’s new release date is still a few months away, but developer Saber Interactive demonstrates here that there will be a lot of effort into adapting its source material, and the wait will be worth it for players who decide to pre-order Evil Dead: The Game.

Evil Dead: The Game releases May 13 on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
