Then, he descends into the vampire lair to battle Peter D’Abano. There are a total of four collectibles in this mission. Each of which are voice acted and provides a bit of lore for the player to chew on.

Locating Collectibles in The Raid

The four collectibles in the mission aren’t evenly spread out. The first, a scrap of human flesh tattooed with a Familiar sigil, can be found in the town. Much later, the three parts of Peter D’Abano’s personal notes can all be found in the underground portion of the mission.

Familiar Tattoo Project

This scrap of flesh can be found sitting atop a barrel in the building the first two enemies are shooting towards. It’s a macabre artifact, but that’s to be expected in a game so closely related to Darkwatch.

Peter D’Abano’s Notes 1/3

This collectible can be found following the first fight that occurs after Chester begrudgingly destroys The Glamour protecting the lair. When Jesse arrives at a cliff overlooking a ruined bridge, players should look around thoroughly before dropping down. The collectible will be resting on a ruined column nearby. Beyond that, there’s a stack of TNT that, once destroyed, reveals a path towards a chest stuffed with Bucks.

Peter D’Abano’s Notes 2/3

The second part of the notes can be found immediately on the other side of the large metal gate that Jesse had to sort out how to open with a bit of climbing and some valve turning.

Peter D’Abano’s Notes 3/3

After Jesse shoots the four counterweights needed to open another metal gate, the path continues along a ledge with another view of the huge inverted pyramid. Then it heads to the right towards a bridge entering the structure. Instead of jumping the obstacle in front of the bridge, direct Jesse left, to discover a small corridor. At the end, resting on a ruined sarcophagus, is the final piece of Peter D’Abano’s Notes.

All of these collectibles are fully voiced, and they are quite interesting. Peter D’Abano’s Notes give the player some details about D’Abano’s motivations and build out the world a bit. Evil West has a Cliff Notes style of storytelling usually, but these collectibles are a good way of supplementing that.

Evil West was released on November 22, 2022, and is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
