Ex Michigan State Dean Sentenced To Prison Stemming From Larry Nassar Probe
William Strampel, 71, received his sentence Wednesday in Ingham County Circuit Court in Lansing, Michigan. He originally was charged with sexual assault in addition to the other charges, but was acquitted of that particular charge. Strampel, who was dean of the College of Osteopathic Medicine, was accused of using his position to “sexually harass, demean and proposition students” who met with him to discuss their classes. He also was accused of not monitoring and following up with protocols that had required another person to be in the exam room with Nassar, the disgraced former Michigan State athletic department doctor, for certain procedures and limiting skin-to-skin contact....
